Aiden

Purr-Fect Match Animal Rescue, Inc.

PFM has been formed by three people with over 30 years of rescue experience between them. We feel that there is a "hole" in current rescue/shelter efforts and we hope to be able to help fill that hole. One aim is to help people understand their animals by education of animal behaviors. Hopefully, that will reduce the number of animals being brought in to "shelters" in our area. We also intend to provide an online service where animals (who have been vetted by us) can be seen by potential adopters, whom we will vet the same way we do our own. Additionally, there are animals we come into contact with who need immediate rescuing. We are a foster-based organization (limited), and will intake the animal(s) as soon as a foster home has room. We follow strict protocol for vaccinations (distemper and rabies), testing (FeLV/FIV, heartworm, etc.), preventative (heartworm), spay/neuter, and microchips. All of the animals available for adoption through our foster homes is up to date on all vaccinations and tests. We spay/neuter our animals between 4 and 6 months if young, and as soon as we intake them if older. All of the members of PFM have previous fostering experience. We do this because, as our mission states, "Purr-Fect Match Animal Rescue is dedicated to the sanctity of all living things and their inherent right to a happy, healthy, and humane life." We hope to accomplish this one animal and one forever home at a time.

Meet Aiden

Aiden loved his person...his dad. Then, his dad passed away. Although Aiden still lived with his mom and human brothers, he was depressed. He felt they had taken his person away from him. Needless to say, he was not a happy camper!! During this time, his mom noticed that he was having issues and took him to the vet. They found out that he was diabetic. Just what he needed on top of everything else. Long story short, he did not enjoy his mom giving him the shots (where was his dad??). She needed one of the sons to help her. The situation was going to change with both sons going to college, and Aiden needed a new place. That is when he came to Purr-Fect Match as a foster cat. Working with the wonderful vets at our clinic, his glucose level has been regulated so that his weight is stabilized and he does not bottom out on insulin. He gets one insulin shot twice a day, and his foster mom hasn't had any trouble doing that...especially if he is eating!  Goodness but this boy is food driven!! That makes some things easy. However, because he is diabetic, he does need to be fed only at the times he is getting his insulin shots. That can make him cranky, or as his foster mom puts it, "spicy!"  He has a big personality and needs a loving home where he can find love again. Where he can be out and about in the house and not just in a room of his own. Warning:  he can get nippy if he gets agitated, so would not do well in a house with younger children or a home with an elderly person who has tender skin. That said, he will also come up and want to be petted. He does want attention. How about giving this senior cat a chance to live out the rest of his life with a family? Even a family of one! He can get along with other cats, but his relationship with dogs is untried. If you are interested in Aiden or any of our adoptable pets, we ask that you will out a non-binding adoption application on our website: purrfectmatch.rescuegroups.org/forms. If you have questions, please email us at [email protected] or call our voicemail at 920-234-5995. Thank you for choosing to adopt!

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must fill out an application form including information regarding declawing (we do NOT support declawing). We then call references and prior vet(s), as well as run a background check for legal issues. The Board of Directors approves an applicant. At that time, the animal is taken to the home and a home visit performed. If it is satisfactory, the animal(s) is(are) left at the new home. A two-week trial period ensues in order to make certain a "perfect match" has been made. Either the adopter or PFM can remove the animal from the home during that two-week period. After that, the adoption is final.
