Meet Scarlett

Hey y'all, I'm Scarlett. I am a pretty 6 year old calico tabby. I think you could describe me as sweet and spicy, but heavy on the sweet. When I give you my face rub kisses, you can look at my big, gorgeous green eyes and also notice that I may be wearing eyeliner. If you're more of a toe bean person, I have both black and pink. Lots of cats will perform their "happy paws/biscuit-making," but how many can do the high step happy paw? Want to know what else I can do? I will sit and high-five you for treats. I can prove it. Come in and meet me. I will show you that I will be a very faithful companion. If you are interested in meeting me feel free to stop in during our Open House hours:  Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm and Saturdays from 11:00am-4:00pm.

Adoption Process
All potential adopters must fill out an application and go through an interview. Our adoption facilitators walk them through the shelter and help them find the perfect animal that would best match their homes. After a potential adopter signs up for a specific animal, there is a cool-down period. We do veterinarian reference checks and follow-up telephone calls on Mondays to make sure the potential adopters are still interested. After the telephone interview has taken place, a home visit is set up and the selected animal is delivered to it's new home. Our adoption fees are $85 for one cat or kitten and $130 for two cats or kittens. The adoption fee includes various procedures which have already been performed, such as: Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency virus tests Distemper shots Rabies Booster Preventative Dewormer Spay or neuter for all cats at least 8 months of age or older An adoption folder complete with an "Animal Health Log Sheet" containing the cat's health history. Kittens must be adopted in pairs if there are no other CATS in the home. Other animals (dogs, birds etc.), people and/or kids do not count. Under no circumstances do our animals leave the shelter the same day they are signed up for.
