Meet Finnegan

Hi! My name is Finn and I am a sweet, snuggly and playful 3-year-old cat looking for my forever home!I’ve spent time at a couple different foster homes since I was found in a crate outside the vet clinic. It’s guessed that I may have been out there for a day or two so I have some unpleasant memories I’d like to put behind me from that time. In a perfect world, you will be my final owner! As I have changed homes many times in my life, I can be more reserved when entering a new environment and may take a little bit of time to establish trust and show my cute little face; but once I start getting comfortable, my playful, curious and snuggly personality will come out. Some of my favorite things to do include checking out my new environment and getting to know all the nooks and crannies in it, especially high up perches! Once I get really comfortable, you can often find me sprinting around the house, showing off my athletic capabilities. I really enjoy playing with toys that I can pounce on/bat/chase, as well as watching the world go by through the windows. I am quite the snuggler and in an ideal world, I would love for my humans to be available frequently for my snuggly tendencies, especially in the evening, but even more so at night. At night, you’ll find me sharing your bed so we can snuggle all night, too. I do have a couple of quirks that you should know about me. First, while I like being scratched, sometimes I get a little sensitive and overstimulated by a lot of touching. I enjoy being scratched on the head but do not really enjoy being touched anywhere else on my body. When I get overstimulated by touch, my tendency is to whip my tail around, and give a nip if the action keeps occurring. It doesn’t hurt, and I promise I’m not trying to hurt you, I just haven’t quite figured out another way to communicate. It is important to pay attention to my body language and give me space when I am not in the mood to be pet, as well as disengaging with me if I ever do nip to discourage this behavior. There are also times where I see my human’s hands as a toy, so it is important to use actual toys in those cases instead. It is not known if I have ever lived with any other animals, so the best assumption is that I would be a great solo cat! And because of my overstimulated nipping, I would prefer to live with older children who know how to respect my space when I request it. At the end of the day, all I crave is having a safe space to be the best cat I can be. If you can play with me, give me love and attention, respect my body language, and provide me with this space, I will enjoy staying with you very much and will make a very loyal, playful and loving companion!---There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown.
