Meet Cheeto

Cheeto is an energetic, 5-year-old orange cat looking for his forever home. He’s a sweetheart and a little purr machine. Very friendly and not at all shy, Cheeto is great with strangers and quickly warms up to new people. He’s highly food motivated, especially when it comes to Temptations treats. Playful and full of energy, he loves chasing small stuffed toys and is very chatty and vocal. Above all, he loves attention and is always eager to play. Cheeto is quite curious, so expect him to follow you everywhere and want to know what's behind every closed door. He’s an independent cat who often finds ways to entertain himself. While he enjoys his independence, he doesn’t mind a good petting, especially when it scratches an itchy spot! During the day, Cheeto loves to sit in front of an open window and watch squirrels, birds, and passing vehicles. He would greatly benefit from a bird feeder he can observe throughout the day. When he’s not watching the outside world, he enjoys finding the highest surface to perch on and take naps. He would thrive with a cat tree or plenty of high surfaces to climb. Some of his favorite toys include wand toys and laser pointers. Though Cheeto doesn’t enjoy being held or carried, he will occasionally allow you to hold him briefly. He also loves perching on the top rails or backs of chairs, couches, and other furniture. Cheeto enjoys walking across laptop keypads and taking naps on them. He loves to sleep on the bed with you. My favorite thing about Cheeto is how he always greets me when I arrive home—by rolling around on the floor and meowing with excitement. He does this every time (make sure to reward him with a treat). Cheeto is a very energetic and curious cat who loves (and very much needs) high places to jump onto and plenty of things to explore. He is intelligent and observant, often mimicking actions after watching you do them. Cheeto is especially active at night, so to manage his energy levels, it's important to play with him for at least 40 minutes each evening. Engaging him in a variety of activities is key, as he gets bored easily. He is also highly inquisitive and enjoys a challenge or puzzle to solve. Cheeto currently lives in a spacious apartment with one human (who is home most of the time), giving him plenty of room to run around and lots of toys to play with. He is played with almost daily for 40 minutes and is fed three meals a day. Cheeto has been exposed to strangers in the past and has always been friendly with them (he hasn’t met any other cats or dogs yet). While he has his own bed and sleep on his own, he prefers sharing a bed with you—so expect him to climb in with you routinely. This handsome guy has multiple hiding spots where he can retreat when feeling overstimulated and greatly benefits from having several scratching posts placed throughout the home. Most importantly, he needs a patient family who is willing to learn and grow with him. Could his forever home be with you? After all, who can resist a Cheeto?
