Meet Beauty

Beauty is a 4.5 year old spayed female who is a true green-eyed beauty on the inside as well as the outside.  Beauty is extremely affectionate and will most certainly curl up on your lap or in your arms.  You can also expect kisses from Beauty, and she will roll over for belly pets. Beauty would do best in a quiet, mellow home with “older” children (12+).  At the shelter she is a bit wary when chaos ensues, such as other cats out of their crates playing about and when volunteers come in to care for cats.  If it is too loud or busy, she likes to retreat to her crate where she feels comfortable and can watch from afar.  She loves to be cozied up in her cocoon bed. Beauty was previously an over groomer likely due to stress in her former home and being a bit anxious.  We have no doubt once she gets to her forever home and settled in with her family, this will subside.  If you are interested in seeing this “Beauty” firsthand, she can be visited at Petco-Greenfield, 4950 S. 76th St., Greenfield, WI 53220.  

Adoption Process
All potential adopters must fill out an application and go through an interview. Our adoption facilitators walk them through the shelter and help them find the perfect animal that would best match their homes. After a potential adopter signs up for a specific animal, there is a cool-down period. We do veterinarian reference checks and follow-up telephone calls on Mondays to make sure the potential adopters are still interested. After the telephone interview has taken place, a home visit is set up and the selected animal is delivered to it's new home. Our adoption fees are $85 for one cat or kitten and $130 for two cats or kittens. The adoption fee includes various procedures which have already been performed, such as: Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency virus tests Distemper shots Rabies Booster Preventative Dewormer Spay or neuter for all cats at least 8 months of age or older An adoption folder complete with an "Animal Health Log Sheet" containing the cat's health history. Kittens must be adopted in pairs if there are no other CATS in the home. Other animals (dogs, birds etc.), people and/or kids do not count. Under no circumstances do our animals leave the shelter the same day they are signed up for.
