Clyde

Rescue Ridge Dog Rescue of Alabama

I have always been a huge animal lover. I used to work for a pitbull rescue in Georgia as a kennel manager for a few years and I recently relocated to Alabama. Sadly, this county has a huge number of stray and abandoned animals and a lack of resources for rescue and veterinary care. There is no city or county animal control facilities to help the animals. There is one other rescue Randolph County Animal Shelter which is a private rescue that houses about 30 animals at a given time. With the support of my mother and sister I have the opportunity to start and run a fantastic rescue on our family property where I can do what I love and make a difference rescuing dogs and finding them forever loving homes! This small rural area really needs the help. The number of animals dumped on the roads here is horrible.

Breed: Pitbull Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth:  9/26/2023 Size: 75 pounds Location: Wedowee, AL RESCUING CLYDE... Clyde was found as a stray at a hunting club in Alabama.  The hunting club reached out to RRDR to see if we could take Clyde in since sadly there is no animal control in the city or county to help.  We brought Clyde into our rescue on 3/2/2024.  ABOUT CLYDE... Clyde is living in our rescue cottage with other dogs.  Clyde is a BIG baby with a big heart!  He actually has a spot on his back that is shaped like a heart.  He is crate trained and house broken. He loves people and is overly friendly to all!  He is a big happy goofy boy.  He is strong and needs someone that can manage his spurts of enthusiasm and be available for snuggly nap times.  He is a big lug head but so tender.  He just loves to be with his people and get lovin'. He loves other dogs but can be overwhelming to other dogs  due to his size and energy level.  If he had a large female playmate he would do great.  His perfect home would be a pitbull savvy home that will continue to work on training with him and love him to pieces.  He would probably love some older kids to run, play and chase around.  His favorite toy is a big rubber tire that he loves to self entertain with.  He rides really well in the car too. Please consider giving Clyde a chance!     ADOPTING CLYDE... Clyde is neutered, current on all vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.  His adoption fee is $200.00.  If you are interested in learning more about Clyde and potentially adopting him please complete an adoption application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/general-4.  If you have any questions please email us at [email protected].  FOSTERING CLYDE... Clyde would love to get the opportunity to live with a family that can foster him until his forever family is found.  If you are interested in fostering Clyde please complete a Foster Application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/ways-to-help. If you have any questions please email us at [email protected]

Adoption Process
All adopters must complete a lengthy adoption application as well as sign an adoption contract. We require a phone interview, a meet and greet with dogs and a home visit with dogs. We also require all current animals be fixed, current on vaccines and on heartworm preventative which we confirm via a vet reference check. Our adoption fee is $250.00.
