Bitsy is the sweetest little girl and only wants to give kisses. She does have submissive peeing issues, but with each passing week, she is getting better. We think she was either scolded or harshly disciplined for being bad. Towering over her makes her think she’s in trouble, so we try not to do that. Someone needs to adopt this girl, give her tons of love, and help her gain some confidence. If you do that, she will return it tenfold... can you do that? She is, of course, still a puppy, so if you do not have another young small dog for her to play with and you are not active yourself, then she is not the girl for you. Keep in mind she could live another 14-15 years, and we want this to be her last home since she has already had two in her short life. Our must-haves for precious Bitsy include: A fenced yard Another young small dog for her to play with Someone who works from home or stays at home No apartments, high-rises, or condos Complete your application online and email us if you want more info on this super sweet little girl!    ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.  We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process is documented on our website at: http://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/info/adoption We do check all references including vet and a home visit is conducted for each animal adoption unless the adopter has previously adopted and there have been no changes or large lapse of time.
