While he’s been here in foster care he’s made some good strides. We can tell he wants the attention but he’s still just a little shy, but he has his tail up and wagging and gets along with all the other fosters in my care.  If you are willing to put in the work, he’ll make a beautiful pet for you. Bandit continues to do well in foster care.  He loves to horn in when other dogs are getting attention.  He's learning that it's wonderful to be petted and cuddled but at first, he'll be shy so the adopter will have to be patient until he understands you are his new owner. This boy really needs another young small dog to play with and he loves doing zoomies with other dogs or if you are outside in the yard while walking around the yard.  He will do best with a young family that can give him the exercise he needs not only with another young small dog but walks on a leash or just outdoor play time.  He does get a little protective of toys and loves playing with them.  Take a chance you won't be sorry with this boy if you are willing to put in the work. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.  We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
