Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets

Who We Are:A group of volunteers in Jackson County, MS dedicated to the mission of saving animal’s lives at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. We are a 501c3 Non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Mississippi. Mission Statement:• To assist Jackson County Animal Shelter with funds, food, supplies, shelter improvements, fostering and volunteerism.• To assist Jackson County Animal Shelter in securing good, reliable adoptive families for animals through social networking, transport to other states and local adoption events. • To educate the public on the importance of spay and neuter laws, animal protection laws and pet owner responsibility. How You Can Help:We always need responsible foster families; we cannot pull animals from the local shelter unless we have safe, reliable foster homes for them to go to for training, medications, spay and neuter hold and quarantine for transports. We work in conjunction with local and out of state Rescue organizations to save as many animals as possible through this fostering, adoption and transport program.Financially, we need funds for supplies, vet care and medicines, shelter pull fees and subsidizing transports to other states. Future projects include possible upgrades to the shelter to help reduce the spread of disease, increase animal capacity and thereby reduce euthanasia rates. We are also working on how to implement and fund low cost spay and neuter programs, micro-chipping, an adoption sponsorship fund and other life saving ideas. Meet Dimples

Dimples Every time I see you, my heart skips a beat Your dimples are my favorite, they're so sweet They make me smile when I'm feeling blue Happiness is your dimples, I'm in love with you. From 'Your Dimples' by Viktor Bawek When you hear the phrase 'big things come in small packages', Dimples is a perfect example. This goofy fun-loving girl is a little compact 2 year old English Bulldog mix weighing 37 lbs. Her personality is all English Bulldog right down to the drool. She loves absolutely everyone she meets of all ages and sizes. Tiny tots and toy dogs would no doubt get bowled over with her exuberant persona, therefore she would do best in a home with older kids and bigger dogs. She loves other dogs and will romp around with them until she gets tired. No kitties for this gal. They are only worthy of barking at and what kitty wants to live with that? Dimples does have a quiet side where she settles down and is ever so the loving and affectionate girl. And yes....she snores. Dimple is good on walks; she is better with a harness/leash than a collar/leash set up. She is house trained with regular potty breaks. Dimples is also crate trained, but she will pee on anything bigger than a hand towel according to her foster mom. As is typical of her breed she can be stubborn, but never in a mean way. She rides well in the car, so she'll happily be your wingman/lady. She would do best with a family who are familiar with her breed and accustomed to all the antics, quirks, drool, laughter, and love that she will bring into your lives. If you think you may be that mom or dad then Dimples is waiting for you. When it comes right down to it, with the right family...Dimples is happiness and you're going to fall in love with her.       Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats.
