Meet Gordy

NEWBIE ALERT!! This adorable dude is Gordy! He is part of a breeder surrender to a rural overcrowded shelter that is coming into our care. Gordy is a purebred Pom. We are told he is 5-7 years old and he weighs 5lbs. He is a spunky and happy boy. Not really timid but don’t be surprised if he’s  a little shy while adjusting to a new home. They have lived in kennels their whole life so they will be settling into foster care and indoor life. With that said they do not mind kennels at all and we do recommends kenneling atleast until fully settled into their new environments. They don’t seem to meet a stranger. They are friendly with other dogs. They have not been kid tested. Gordy does have some scaring are one eye but it doesn’t slow him down a bit. They will complete their vetting 10/4/23 and will then be adoption ready. We will update pics and info as we get it but we are accepting applications at this time!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. ADOPTION APPLICATION https://form.jotform.us/70898112177159
