Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets

Who We Are:A group of volunteers in Jackson County, MS dedicated to the mission of saving animal’s lives at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. We are a 501c3 Non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Mississippi. Mission Statement:• To assist Jackson County Animal Shelter with funds, food, supplies, shelter improvements, fostering and volunteerism.• To assist Jackson County Animal Shelter in securing good, reliable adoptive families for animals through social networking, transport to other states and local adoption events. • To educate the public on the importance of spay and neuter laws, animal protection laws and pet owner responsibility. How You Can Help:We always need responsible foster families; we cannot pull animals from the local shelter unless we have safe, reliable foster homes for them to go to for training, medications, spay and neuter hold and quarantine for transports. We work in conjunction with local and out of state Rescue organizations to save as many animals as possible through this fostering, adoption and transport program.Financially, we need funds for supplies, vet care and medicines, shelter pull fees and subsidizing transports to other states. Future projects include possible upgrades to the shelter to help reduce the spread of disease, increase animal capacity and thereby reduce euthanasia rates. We are also working on how to implement and fund low cost spay and neuter programs, micro-chipping, an adoption sponsorship fund and other life saving ideas. Meet Cutty

Cutty is a four year old terrier mix who weighs 20 pounds. This resilient terrier mix has endured unimaginable trauma but continues to display a remarkable capacity for love and trust. Despite suffering a severe injury when her previous owner experienced a mental health crisis and sliced her neck open, she has shown incredible strength and a forgiving spirit. Now healed physically, she is ready to find a forever home where she can feel safe and loved. This terrier mix is sweet-natured, gentle, and eager to bond with a compassionate and patient adopter. She will need a quiet and understanding environment to continue healing emotionally, with someone who can provide her the stability she deserves. She gets along well with other pets and enjoys the simple comforts of affection, soft bedding, and quality time. She rides well in a car. With love and care, this brave girl is sure to thrive and bring immense joy to her new family. If you’re ready to provide her with a second chance at happiness, she’s waiting to meet you.       Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats.
