Stapum (A133487) is a 1-year-and-9-month-old AK Husky who weighed 47.1 pounds on intake!02/01/25 Mister Stapum is back after a brief adoption due to the other dog in the home not coping well with a new brother. Stapum was described as being an outgoing and friendly dog. However, he was eagerly trying to figure out a way over the 4ft fence around the backyard! Remember that Stapum has a history of being at large, so he should always be on a secure cable tie out when left outside. Stapum was said to get along with the other dog in the home, but he caused the other dog to feel the need to mark everywhere. Stapum's most recent home also had really small kiddos that he was said to do wonderfully with! Stapum arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home. He has been quite the frequent flyer at the shelter and is looking for a home that can keep him safely contained! He should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised while in a fenced-in yard. Stapum is very smart and has shown us that he can open guillotines between kennels, so he definitely has that escape artist personality. He is looking for a home that can keep him both mentally and physically stimulated so he stays out of trouble! He may enjoy taking an agility class or learning to be a skijor buddy! Stapum has kept his kennel clean at the shelter indicating that he may be housebroken. He has a very friendly personality and appears to always be wanting to making friends with everyone he meets. However, since he was a stray we do not know his history around children or other animals. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with potential new friends.
