Meet MAXIMUS (MAX)

Maximus, or Max, had a person and home of his own, but all that changed when his person got diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and she sadly passed away. Some of the womans friends knew her prognoses was poor and advocated for Max to try and find him a home. Sadly, she passed away before one was found and he was sent to a high kill shelter. Max was very much loved and enjoyed all the comforts of home which he happily shared with another dog (a black lab). He had also been around other dogs including small dogs (poodle). In his current temporary home, he has also been around a small dog (Doxi). He has reportedly been friendly around children, however, he does have a prior bite incident. It's possible could have been related to his loss since his whole world turned upside down, or due to a prior illness. but even though he has done well with both, we would like to place him in a home where there are no small dogs or children. He is a powerful boy so needs a savvy handler. He reportedly did well at the shelter being handled by staff and techs even under duress and he did well during his vet visit.  His caretaker says he is a sucker for scratches and walks with such a swagger. He is housetrained, well behaved, crate trained and rides well in a car.  Max is vaccinated, vet checked, neutered, microchipped and is ready to start a new beginning with a loving person and safe home to help heal his heart.
