Tucson Cold Wet Noses

Cold Wet Noses is a small group of individuals who take in the dogs that are going to be euthanized on any given day. We do this, when we can (when we have room for them), from Pima Animal Care Center (PACC).(we apologize we can only take in animals from the county shelter off of there rescue list) We bear all of the cost for spaying or neutering, micro-chipping, health care and shots . We're just a bunch of dog lovers who are trying to help as many furry souls as we can. The animals live with us so we know their personally and what would be the best fit for them. All of our Dogs and Cats our part of our family and we want that for them at your home. WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT DOGS TO HOMES THAT WANT TO KEEP THEM OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME THEY ARE NOT YARD DOGS. We love each and every foster and we want you to do so so as well. If they arent a good match in your home we insist that they come back to us until their perfect match is found. We truly believe that there is a perfect pet for a perfect home! Thank you for adopting a shelter dog or cat from Tucson Cold Wet Noses.

Meet Ruffian

Ruffian Black short-hair Chihuahua Ruffian, or Ruff as we like to call him (or Ruffy or Ruff-Ruff), is a sweet little spunky guy who is around 9 years old and weighs 8 lbs.  He was found on the streets of central Phoenix and was saved from the euthanasia list. Ruff is a cute and funny little guy who gets along quite well with our two other small (6lb and 24lb) doggies, and doesn’t bother our two resident cats much.  He loves to roll around on the floor, play with toys, play with our 24 pound 20 month old mutt Frida, and cuddle up with humans on the sofa.  He is well crate trained, being his preferred place to sleep, and will go to it when asked or when he wants to rest. He’s quite happy going for walks around the neighborhood, is usually quick to do his doo-doo, and greets people and other dogs nicely.  He likes to stop and sniff/pee quite regularly, but doesn’t mind being pulled along. Ruff is very good about going outside to pee; I just open the door and let him out; no need to worry about him taking off. Ruff has had some behavioral issues – growling and snapping when in his crate or when being approached or petted, or when trying to pick him up – but he has gotten over most of it with professional training, treats, and TLC.  He still does not like being picked up and will growl and snap, but he might get over that as well with some work. Because of these behavior issues, he will not be available for adoption in homes with children. Ruffian is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, was recently neutered and has had dental work. His adoption fee is $275, with an additional $21 for PACC licensing. Ruffian is adoptable to homes in Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita and Catalina only. Please fill out an adoption application here http://tucsoncoldwetnoses.com/adoptable-pets/adoption-application/ to meet Ruffian or email [email protected] with any questions
