Adopt-A-Stray

We are a few dedicated individuals who have formed Adopt-A-Stray in order to save many adoptable pets that would otherwise be euthanized in the shelters in our area. We routinely pull dogs and cats from the euthanasia list, as well as take in strays and owner surrenders as space allows.

Meet Zoey2

2/4/25Meet Zoey Please share!! She was adopted from us as a puppy but unfortunately her family can’t keep her. No negative comments please. She is a two year old yellow lab mix. Zoey has been with her family for two years. However, she has been experiencing anxiety due to the noises where she lives (busy apartment building). After trying multiple options, her family has decided to help find a home that is quieter and has plenty of room to run around. Zoey knows all the basic commands and does well off leash in open spaces. She currently goes to doggie day care twice a week and is good with other dogs. However, she does get nervous meeting anyone new; dogs and people. Zoey loves to run, swim, and play. She does also likes to chew. However, she is generally good at sticking to her toys. She is also very curious and likes to check out what's on the counter. This habit has been tough to break. Overall, she is a wonderful pup who is very loved. She just needs a home with more space, less outside noises, another dog (preferably), and lots of exercise. Her current family would be happy to talk to anyone really interested and would be happy to introduce her to anyone as well. Generally, Zoey is very nervous at first and does best meeting new people outside. Once comfortable, she loves to cuddle and be pet. She is allergic to beef and loves chewing on whole carrots. She is taking anxiety medication. However, her family hopes in the right environment, and she won't need it anymore.
