ArkanPaws Animal Rescue

Arkanpaws Animal Rescue is a group of volunteers who are passionate about helping homeless animals through rescuing, fostering, vetting, and rehabilitating, and then finally finding them loving “fur-ever” homes. We’re located in central Arkansas, however, transport is available to most states. We arrange transport for dogs adopted into homes in New England every week. Most of our animals currently reside in foster homes in the central Arkansas area.ArkanPaws is committed to building a community of devoted pet families and helping facilitate greater networking and services for pet owners. We want to educate people about why it is so important to spay and neuter animals as a solution to ending the huge problem of pet overpopulation. Too many beautiful, healthy, adoptable pets are dying needlessly every day as a result of that overpopulation. We are developing a network of volunteer and foster families, and helping to spread the word about spay/neuter discount programs available, and other pet related information.Knowledge is power, and the power to evoke a positive change in the community is a beautiful thing indeed!ArkanPaws Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) all-breed rescue, non-profit organization as of 12/12/13. Your donations are tax deductible. We are in good standing with the Secretary of State’s office, and are a registered charity filed with the Arkansas Attorney General’s office.

Meet Lana

Lana is a gorgeous one-year old GS who was owner surrendered recently to our program. She was getting out of their yard and they decided that they didn't have time for her and decided to rehome her. Inspite the change in her life it is clear to see that she loves people and is very affectionate, but she does not know her size. At 70 pounds she is a very healthy girl and we are working on training her not to jump on people when she is seeking attention. As much as she loves people, she is insecure around other dogs and barks when she is nervous. The person who adopts her will need to be dog savvy; especially with this breed. She will need an alpha personality type who is stong physically and mentally to guide Lana. She is so young that with the right training she will be amazing! Lana is soulful and it's obvious that she's a very loyal dog.Lana is was recently tested and she is heartworm negative. We have her on a prevention and strongly suggest she remains on one for the rest of her life. In addition to being heartworm negative, she is up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Her coat is thick and will need a daily brushing and grooming from time to time. She has the best coat for cool temperatures. We were told that she is friendly with cats, but as of right now she has not been cat tested in our program. Currently she is in Arkansas, but transport is available to New England. Lanas adoption fee is $700 and that does cover the cost of HEARTS ground transportation.
