NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 11/19/2024: Slushie - female - approx 2 years old - 6.10 pounds - Chihuahua Reason for intake: Slushie came to us as a stray. She was found at Sonic off of North Market in Blanchard on Friday night of 11/15/2024. The finder contacted us and we posted her on our Facebook page and shared in several lost and found and pet groups. The finder could not keep her any longer so we took her in. We've contacted Caddo Parish Animal Services so that they could start stray hold. We named her Slushie... well, because she was found at Sonic. She is not chipped nor was she wearing a collar/tags. She's a sweet, petite little girl. She'll be heading to our vet the week of 11/25/2024 once stray is up. Stay tuned. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.416768288349589&type=3 OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Adoption Process
On-line adoption application required. If approved and at adoption we require adoption agreement, spay/neuter contract for puppies/kittens - adoption fees vary from $85 for felines and $150-$250 for dogs (varying depending on age, health, behavior, etc.) Adopters must have responsible dog-ownership history and stellar vet reference if applying to adopt a dog and vice versa for cats.
