PREGNANT - NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 2/2/2025: Missouri - female - approx 2 years old - 10.12 pounds - Rat Terrier Reason for intake: Missouri came in with Oklahoma via a rescue-friend as part of a hoard situation. There were a total of thirteen on the property. ALL the females were pregnant or at least exhibited bellies that they were pregnant. Five dogs had already been removed. Two came to us and the other six went to a rescue north. They all lived in an outdoor pen, males and females all mixed together. With all the rains, the pen was just a big mud pit. We are so thankful they are all safe now and out of that mess. We are sending Missouri and Oklahoma to the vet for x-rays so we can determine how far along they are and approx due dates. Stay tuned! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Adoption Process
On-line adoption application required. If approved and at adoption we require adoption agreement, spay/neuter contract for puppies/kittens - adoption fees vary from $85 for felines and $150-$250 for dogs (varying depending on age, health, behavior, etc.) Adopters must have responsible dog-ownership history and stellar vet reference if applying to adopt a dog and vice versa for cats.
