Meet London
Hey everyone, London here! I just turned One and I am full grown at 45lbs. They tell me I am a smart cookie because I have learned so much since I got here back in February (2o24). When I arrived, I didn't know how to walk on a leash and I pottied in my room (which I guess is a big NO NO). Now I love going for walks in my harness and catching bugs and running through the tall grass. I only use the bathroom in my outside area or the yard and I can use the doggie door as well! I really like to play with toys and with humans, but other dogs make me nervous and I can't stand cats! I am getting used to other dogs though and might have a roommate soon, but I hope I find a forever home before then cause I really like to be by myself (so I can get all of the attention when the humans come to hang out). Anyway, I would be a loyal and fun companion, if you would give me the chance. Please come by and say hi, maybe take me for a walk? I would LOVE that! If you would like more information, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.
Adoption Process
We have an adoption application that can be found on our website and sent to our email or people call or inquire through adopt-a pet and petfinder where all our animals are posted and our FB page we call Stone County Humane Society Adoptions Available. It is a group page we use to find owners of lost pets as well as post our animals ready for adoption. Our normal FB page got hacked a few years ago and I have never set one up again. Our adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, and $150 for a trained dog through a local Paws in Prison training program we participate in every 8 weeks we send 2 dogs to be trained and adopted through this program. Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies shots, 2 cat/dog shots and more for puppies, 4DXPlus Idexx Snap test for heartworm, ehrlichia, lime and one other disease, and worm medicine. We ask for vet references and get all the information we can to determine if a person can adopt an animal from SCHS.
