Meet FIONA*

Meet Fiona, the gray and white pibble. Fiona came into the Shelter as a stray, found near the Target in Watsonville. Upon her arrival, she was a tad nervous but gave small tail wags. After a period of warming up – she gave gentle kisses and would put her paws up on people. Staff have observed that she has been social and polite when meeting “strangers” – easy to leash up and go out to play in the exercise yards. She has been walking by dogs in their kennels with no reactivity and leaves a tidy kennel overnight. Fiona met a male cattledog mix and participated in some play – playbows and using her front paws often in engagement. A home with another dog may be a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Fiona in a home environment, with children, or cats. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
