Meet LOUIE*

Meet Louie, the Malinois mix! Typical to his breed – Louie has a lot of passion and drive to bring to his next family. A wonderful volunteer has taken Louie on some sleepovers to take a break from the Shelter and learn more about him in a home environment. She reports that he is such a love - A sweetie pie! After some decompression and exploration of the house, he mellowed out - content to chill and nap. After getting his yaya's out on walks and through play, he loves to snuggle. He even went to work with his foster mama and he did amazing - laying at her feet in the cubicle and met all the coworkers (who loved him!). Louie really likes people and has been very affectionate with those he meets - leaning in and soaking up the love from them. Louis has briefly interacted with a shy resident cat and may do well with a dog-savvy cat in the next home provided there is a slow, thoughtful introduction. Louie has also been a rockstar with meeting dogs out on walks and during his visits to the office.Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
