Meet Maya, the staffie cutie! Staff have observed that this girl is a lovebug who enjoys cuddling up with people â laying on top of them in their arms. She enjoys being someoneâs sidekick and little shadow and is ready to meet her new family! She has met other dogs on leash at the Shelter, engages in some sniffing and then goes back to her handler to soak up some more love. As an adolescent, Maya is looking for lots of mental and physical engagement in her next home in the form of play, walks, and some positive reinforcement training. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
