Meet Guapo, the handsome Shepherd. Guapo previously lived in a home where he coexisted with chickens, ducks and goats. He was described as friendly with everyone he met (including new people). His favorite activities are going for hikes and to the beach. At the Shelter, Guapo romps around the exercise yards â bringing toys to staff members to engage in play. He has met dogs and may enjoy a friend to coexist with provided there is some speed dating at the Shelter prior to adoption. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
