Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Hanukkah: Dreidel

Adoption Fee: $800   The Hanukkah puppies are a litter of 8 week old Pomeranian x Husky mixes (or Pomsky for those who like a mashup name). These five babies were saved from being dumped in a bag at only three weeks old and have been lovingly cared for by their foster mom ever since. We expect these pups to be 25-30 pounds fully grown. The litter is 4 boys and 1 girl.  The puppies wake up around 6 AM and eat breakfast before heading out for an hour long romp/play session in the yard. They have lunch at 1 PM and dinner at 8 PM. They spend their days hanging in their pen, racing around the yard, and cuddling with each other in a big pile. These puppies absolutely love being held and will snuggle with you for hours. At night, they sleep in their pen.    Dreidel: Dreidel is Miss Independent and leads her brothers. She likes to wander the yard, pouncing on leaves and discovering the world around her. She loves to wrestle with her brothers and play with their small mountain of toys. She is the only one of the litter with heterochromia and her eyes are absolutely electric. Gelt: Gelt is a sweet and quiet pup compared to his siblings. Of course, he is still a playful and loving puppy so he loves to run around and play and throw himself into piles of leaves in the backyard! Gelt was the first to step foot outside the pen when they got big enough to start exploring, but he is quick to head back to a lap when the day is done! Kugel: Kugel is a snuggler and absolutely melts into your lap when you scoop him up. He is content to snooze in a lap for hours at a time, but as soon as he has finished resting, he is ready for a good old game of tug of war or fetch. His gorgeous forehead markings make him eye-catching and only add points to his cuteness factor. He is just so cute you want to eat him up! Latke: Latke LOVES to play and takes great pleasure in planning the daily romp sessions his siblings partake in. This little dude thinks he is a big bad wolf, always tumbling around and wrestling, but then he decides he is tired and he is ready to give puppy kisses and snuggles. He has started showing off his zoomies in the yard and is absolutely hilarious to watch. Menorah: Menorah is a total Mama’s boy and loves being held, especially as you walk around. Like any good husky, he has a lot to say and will be talkative as he gets bigger! This dude has stunning blue eyes and a gorgeous coat. From day one he has been the first to give kisses and snuggles and we know he will make his forever family so happy.    The Hanukkah puppies are only an option for those who have owned a dog of their own in the past 3 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 5.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.
