Meet Heath

Heath – Black Male, 6-7 years., 80 lbs. Do you like Big Hunks? How about a Heath Bar? Because I’m both!  Hello, I’m Heath. I am about 6-7 yrs old, weighing in around 80 pounds of pure love! How’d I get my name you ask? I was found wandering alone on Heath Road in Kern County. I was starting to get cold and hungry and I saw a nice lady out jogging, so I just followed her home! She was nice and she let me into her backyard! She gave me lots of love, some food and water and told me I was a good boy. She tried to find my family but they never came for me. She reached out to Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno and the rest is history! My foster soon discovered that I love to play fetch ALL THE TIME.  I also have foster siblings and I love to play with them, too!  We wrestle, chase the ball and even swim together. Did I mention I love swimming?  I am cat curious, but not sure how I feel about them. When I’m not playing, I love being with my foster family. I’m kind of a cuddle bug and love attention. I have been given a big fluffy dog bed and I really love it.  I will sleep all night on my bed and not be any trouble or bother anyone. I’m not a fan of crates, though.  I don’t really need one because I’m housebroken.  I also love going on walks with my family. Heath is an all-around great boy and a joy to have around. He could still use some training for basic commands. He would do well with a family or a retired couple. He would also enjoy another large dog to play with. Heath came to us with inflamed skin from untreated allergies and very infected ears. With nutritious, quality food, and allergy medication, his skin started to heal very quickly to what you see now. Heath has typical lab ears that will need to be diligently monitored by his forever family.
