Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Cranberry

Adoption Fee: $750   Cranberry is a 2 year old Westie x Maltese  mix who’s ready to spice up the holiday season with her forever home! Cranberry was rescued from the shelter where she was surrendered by her former home who was moving and couldn’t take her along for the ride. We agreed to save her life and it’s been rainbows from there! Cranberry weighs 16 pounds and is just the perfect size for all the adventures in store for you both! Her hair is as soft as a cloud and you’ll want to ooh and aah over her for hours. Adopt Cranberry and put the canned vs. homemade debate to rest, the clear answer is canine!       Cranberry is super sweet and playful and just can’t wait to make each day better than the one before. She is playful and craves attention from her humans. She is always ready to roll over on her back for a long belly rub, or a cuddle session on the couch. This gal loves her toys and would be thrilled with a pile of plushies in her forever home. Cranberry would be a perfect pup for someone who works from home and wants a Zoom buddy. Nobody will be able to resist taking a break from a meeting to cheer for Cranberry when she pops up on the computer screen! Cranberry would also love to join you on a trip to the coffee store for a pup cup or on just about any other errands you need to get done! She just wants to be with her people and shower them in all the love she has contained in her little body. Cranberry is also super smart and food motivated, so we know you’ll be the talk of the block in no time! If you’re ready for the best pup in the world, you’ve met her with Cranberry!  Cranberry wakes up between 7-7:30 AM and heads out for the potty. She eats breakfast at 8 AM and then settles in for some cuddles before her foster mom starts the workday. During the day, she alternates between snoozing and trotting around the backyard surveying her yard. She gets a walk in the early evening before she has dinner at 6 PM. In the evening, Cranberry cuddles on the couch as she watches some TV. Once she’s tired from a day of being adorable, she heads into her crate for the night.  Cranberry loves playing with dogs and would adore a playful canine sibling. She is housebroken and crate trained. Cranberry adores people and makes new best friends everywhere she goes. Cranberry would benefit from some additional leash and obedience training, but she is a quick learner! Come and pick up the cutest addition to your holiday table!      Cranberry is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.
