Meet Midge
Adoption fee: $650 Midge is a 2 year old Yorkie mix who weighs 7.9 lbs. She is a tiny little thing! She was a rescue from the shelter and was thrilled to get out of that noisy place. Here is the report from her foster home! Midge gets up around 7:30 in the morning. She goes out to go potty and then has breakfast. She spends most of the day hanging out with our dog Gizmo; napping, etc. When we get home from work around 3 o’clock we take her on a walk which she loves. Then we come home and she has dinner and we play with her and she spends time on the couch with us. And then she’s in bed around 10 PM. Midge was pretty comfortable with us/in our home from the start. She is very friendly with humans and she doesn’t seem to mind our dog and our cats. She’s definitely a Velcro dog. She latches on and follows you around the house nonstop. She’s very excited to see you when you get home from work. And she’s very excited when she sees the leash come out for a walk. She loves to chase toys and play catch in the backyard. But she also loves to curl up next to you on the couch. I spent a week home from work while I fostered her because I was sick and she was a great couch companion. She definitely likes to be number one in the house. She put our dog in his place from the beginning. So he’s been pretty submissive to her. She likes all the attention and will ask for it. But very sweet rarely barks and just a great overall companion. Not shy at all. Midge doesn’t care about our cats, she lets them be. She is friendly with our small dog Gizmo (he is 10 pounds and she is only 7) but she puts him in his place. She likes our attention. They don’t play but more like coexist. I think with the right dog she would be fine with a dog companion but Midge would also love to be a solo dog. She spent the weekend with a female dog and I guess they did not get along too well. Midge is great with our kids (11 and 14). Midge is the best of both worlds... she loves going on walks but is also content hanging out on the couch and cuddling. She is amazing on a leash. It is her happy place… it would be great would a home that loves to go walking. She is potty-trained completely and she doesn’t love her crate but is fine after a while. At night she likes to sleep on the ground by your bed or in an enclosed area nearby. She will bark when someone comes to the door but other than that is a quiet girl. Midge definitively came from a place where she was loved. She sits on command and bring toys in her mouth to you throughout the day. She knows what it is like to be a happy dog! Midge is an option for a home with prior dog experience in their lifetime. If there is another dog in the home, they'll need to be the chill sort and not get up in her face. She is an option for kids over the age of 5. She is also an option for a home with cats!
