Meet Archie
This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, January 27th unless he/she is adopted prior to the event with a set up home. The event is from 12 pm to 3 pm at Palo Alto's Pet Food Express. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption Fee: $500 Archie is a 4 year old Yorkie x Chihuahua mix who was rescued from the shelter. This petite dude weighs 6.6 pounds, so he will fit into your life with ease! Archie instantly won the hearts of our volunteer who scooped him out of the shelter as well as his loving foster parent. Now, he’s ready to start his next adventure, finding his forever home! This sweet boy promises to bring boundless love and cuddles to the home lucky enough to adopt him. Below is a note from Archie’s foster. “Archie is such a sweet boy who loves his people more than anything in the entire world! For the family lucky enough to adopt him, he will be your faithful companion, sticking by your side 24/7. Archie has an adorable teeny face and long, kangaroo legs which makes playtime a hilarious daily experience. Archie may take some time to settle in and trust his new people but once he does he can’t wait to show off for you! Archie wakes up around 9 AM and gets a morning walk. We are working on his noise desensitization (we live in San Francisco) but he does great for such a teeny dude! Archie grazes on his food throughout the day. During the day, he alternates between napping, cuddling, walks, and playing with his toys. He is a fabulous WFH companion as he basically wants to be with you always. In the evenings, he cuddles on the couch with us before his last pee of the night and then he heads to bed in his crate. Archie gets along with other dogs and is very well-mannered when greeting pups on leashes. He is still working on his potty training but knows to use the potty pads when offered! Archie’s ideal home would be one with lots of love and affection. He would be a great solo pup or a companion to an existing family pet. He will bring lots of love and snuggles regardless!” Archie is an option for just about any kind of home, regardless of prior dog experience. He could be an option for a first-time dog owning family as long as they are ready to take on dog ownership. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8 due to his small size.
Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.
