Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Cars: Lamborghini

This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, December 17th unless he/she is adopted prior to the event with a set up home. The event is from 12 pm to 3 pm at Palo Alto's Pet Food Express. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption fee: $650   The Car puppies are 8 weeks old as of 12/4/22. They were born in the shelter to a mama dog who looks like Lab/Border Collie mix, though the pups definitely look like they may have a couple other breeds in there as well. Dad is a mystery, and the pups are 100% purebred cuteness! We were asked to rescue them from the very overcrowded shelter, and they've been in foster for the past two weeks. Each one of them has a unique and special personality. They're currently in the 8-10 lb range, so they could be big pups when fully grown! Here is what their foster home has to say about these cuties!   The puppies get up around 6:30 and play for a while before going back to bed before breakfast. They are fed twice a day at around 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. They eat moistened dry food (Nulo puppy) with a small amount of wet dog food mixed in. Depending on the weather the dogs usually head to bed around 7:30 pm and then do a bathroom break between 9:00 and 10:00 pm. They are a very easy group.       Aston Martin is one of two “Big Boys” in the litter. He is actually the biggest lap dog! He loves to just curl up on a lap, especially early in the morning. He plays well with his littermates and is especially sad to be alone. His beautiful blue eyes and gray coat make him a very handsome boy and he would do well in a warm home where he can get a lot of lap time.       Bentley is the other “Big Boy” in the litter. He is an easy going dog. His chocolate coat and big eyes draw people to him. He likes very much to be in the company of humans. He always likes to know where everyone is, littermates and foster family members. He will be a well balanced companion who likes time on the couch with walks in the neighborhood and trips to the beach!       Porsche is a beautiful fluffy white coated girl. She is the most independent of the litter and the most interested in exploring every area of every yard or room or garage. She is fearless. When she is tired she likes nothing more than to curl up next to her humans on the couch. She will make a great adventure buddy.       Lamborghini is a confident boy who is always looking for action. He loves to join in on any tug o’ war or jump on any dog pile. He will be a good hiking pal or good company in the garden. He likes to find the action so a household with lots going on would be a good fit for him.       Rolls Royce is a curious boy. He is independent and always looking for interesting areas of the yard to explore and he is always up for playing with squeaky toys and pulling on rope. He has a playful temperament and still likes to be held like a baby.   The puppies are only an option for a home that has owned a dog in the last 5 years. If there are children they should be over the age of 6.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.
