Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Noodle the Poodle

Adoption fee: $250   Noodle is an 8-9 year old Poodle who weighs 15 lbs. He was a rescue from the shelter. He was such a sweet gentleman that we did not hesitate to break him out of kennel jail and get him into a foster home! Noodle has a non-shedding coat that makes him an option for those with allergies or who just do not want to clean up fur. He will require regular grooming. Noodle needs a home that is quiet and will allow him to have time to adjust to his surroundings. Like many dogs, he will be unsettled at first. As an older gent, he struggles with settling into new environments and will need a patient owner who will give him time to adjust. If you're willing to give him time, then you will get the dog we know and love so much. Noodle would thrive best in a single person home that doesn't have a lot of visitors. He would absolutely be in heaven being someone's velcro companion. He would blossom. Noodle is a major snuggler and cuddler. He likes to sit by his foster's feet while she’s working, or on the sofa next to her. He loves attention, but he understands when his foster is working and will fall asleep or relax near her. He has a playful spirit but is generally on the mellower side and won't need tons of exercise. Noodle likes other dogs and is always happy to meet a new doggy friend and engage in play, but would prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can have his personal space. He is good on leash and does not pull, and he loves going for walks, though he does sometimes bark at passing humans and other dogs. He also enjoys car rides and will jump right in when the door is opened for him. Noodle has shown signs of resource guarding when other people are visiting and his new owner will need to work on this behavioral challenge unless they don't have other people coming over or already have the tools needed for resourcing guarding. Noodle does not like to be woken from a nap and moved, so it's best to approach gently and speak quietly to him before trying to coax him up. Welcome to older pets! Noodle is only an option for a home with prior dog experience in the past several years. He is best suited to a quiet adults-only home for his golden years. *A donation has been made in honor of Ryland's 18th birthday!*
