Meet Jimmy
**Jimmy is a mixed-breed dog, and while he doesn't shed, we cannot guarantee he is allergy-friendly.** Are you looking for a fun playmate for your other little dogs? And somebody to cuddle and binge-watch movies on the couch with? Then, look no further - meet Jimmy! Jimmy is a lively little lovebug who adores toys and loves running around, playing, and wrestling! He also loves lots of cuddling and attention. He is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs about 11lbs. Jimmy came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a super matted stray with a fractured pelvis. You’d never know from his cheerful and active personality that a couple of months ago, he had FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery on his left rear leg. This surgery removes the ball from the ball-and-socket joint because the femur is pushing into the pelvis, generally due to being hit by a car. Jimmy has bounced right back and now loves to run around. He’ll never run marathons, but he does love to go for walks and behaves very well on a leash. Jimmy is friendly with other dogs and keeps trying to get the older, more sedate dogs at his foster home to wrestle and play with him, but they just think he’s a young whippersnapper and aren’t too interested. Jimmy would do best in a home with other small active dog(s) to play with. He has done well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. He could be a wonderful addition to an active family with kids 7 years and older. Jimmy is very affectionate and loves to sit on his foster mom’s lap when he’s not running around in the yard or chewing on toys. He loves his crate and settles right down at bedtime. Jimmy is housetrained and does his business right away when he goes outside. Since Jimmy is a fluffy guy, he tends to develop tangles in his hair and needs to be brushed a lot. His new family should be prepared to pay for regular professional grooming appointments or learn how to do at-home grooming to upkeep Jimmy's coat. Does Jimmy sound like a good match for your family? If so, submit an adoption application today! Jimmy's adoption fee is $350. Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email [email protected]. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.
Adoption Process
We have an application that needs to be completed. We need to interview all members of the household that are considering adopting the pet. We also need to verify if renting that any rental deposits have been satisfied.
