Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Muffin

Adoption Fee: $750   Muffin is a 5 year old Maltese x Yorkie mix who is as adorable as she is delicious! Muffin was rescued from an overcrowded shelter where she was on display just waiting for someone to pick her up! We knew this limited time flavor deserved a second chance at finding her humans so we scooped her up and away we went! Muffin is a petite girl, clocking in at only 8 pounds (we promise under her fluff she’s very small). With her adorable little mustache and her gorgeous ears, she turns heads wherever she goes. Come pick up your new bakery favorite today with Muffin!      Muffin is a mellow lady who loves a cuddle and a cookie! Muffin adores her humans (aka her personal butlers who were put on earth to give her belly rubs). She follows her foster people around to supervise their daily activities and is very engaged during zoom calls. She is pretty mellow and loves lounging in the sun on one of her soft beds. She loves her snacks and is always ready to show off for a cookie. She is totally a girl’s girl and would love to find a mom ready to buy her a fabulous wardrobe and show her off! Muffin may be a couch potato but she does have her moments on walks where she zooms around as she explores all the smells of nature. Once she’s done with her adventures though, she wants to lounge as you wait on her hand and foot like the princess she is. According to Muffin’s foster, she is basically like a cat and is the most calm and lovely dog they’ve ever met! That’s one of the highest compliments in our line of work.   Muffin wakes up around 7 AM and waits patiently in her crate for her humans to start their day. She heads out on a morning stroll and then comes home for breakfast. During the day, she hangs out in the house while her humans work. On the weekends, she enjoys hikes and outings out and is a crowd favorite. She goes out for short potty walks every few hours and snacks at her kibble throughout the day. She goes out again on another walk in the early evening before her dinner at 6. She lounges around for a few hours before heading to her crate for the night. Muffin does well with other dogs, especially those who are on the calmer side. She is fine with kids as long as they are respectful of her smaller size. However, a home without kids would be her ideal living situation. Muffin walks very well on the leash and sticks close to her people. Muffin can’t wait to soak up all the cuddles and love her forever people have to offer!     Muffin is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 7.
