Meet Cereal: Crackle
This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, February 25th unless he/she is adopted prior to the event with a set up home. The event is from 12 pm to 3 pm at Palo Alto's Pet Food Express. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption fee: $700 Kellogg’s Cereal puppies are 11 weeks old. They came into our rescue with Mom from the shelter when they were days old. Momma Kellogg, an Irish Wolfhound mix (who has been adopted!) had 13 puppies who she whelped, cared for, and kept safe and then was an amazing mom to all of them until it was time for her to hang up the apron strings. Dad is a mystery, and the puppies have a variety of looks to them! We wouldn't be surprised if there was some Mini Schnauzer, a touch of Labrador, and a couple other breeds in the mix. Mama weighed about 60 lbs and the pups seem like they will be smaller than that, but it's hard to guess their adult size, so adopters should be prepared for whatever they end up with! These puppies have lived in the most fantastic foster home who raised them, held them every day, touched them all over so they would be accustomed to it for the future when it comes to vet visits and/or grooming. All puppies started to acknowledge and follow the human finger pointing. For example, foster mom would say a name, point to the bed, and ask the puppy to lay down. It was becoming a natural response. These puppies are so smart! The puppies are almost able to sleep throughout the night without waking up and needing to go potty. When they were young, it was a bazillion trips outside but now, it’s one at most. Good job foster mom and pups! Puppies sleep through all kinds of noises and are accustomed to sounds of the TV, people talking loudly and laughing, music blaring. They even slept as the foster had another litter that screamed in the house. The foster made sure that Kellogg’s pups felt safe and weren’t bothered by any kind of sounds. This makes for very confident puppies as they grow older and older. The puppies are happy, playful, smart puppies. They eat Nulo puppy kibble three times a day. They are close to being potty trained on a grassy potty pad. They all have been taught to sit before they get to eat. It can be difficult to pin down their personalities, which are ever-changing at this age, but here are some notes from their foster family! Crackle (F): Welcome to the cuddler of the group. If you're looking for a lil lap dog, she's your girl! Prepare for all the snuggles and love. Raisin Bran (F): She loves to play with her siblings… sometimes even when they don’t want to play! She would be a great option to join a playful dog in the home and be their new best friend. Snap (F): This one is an escape artist- to find you and get some snuggles! She'll climb her way out of the pen and seek out humans. She's very people-oriented. The puppies are only an option for a home that has owned a dog in the last 5 years. If there are children, they should be over the age of 5.
