Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Echo

Adoption Fee: $750   Echo is a 2 year old Shih Tzu who is excited to follow his family across the universe. Echo was rescued from the shelter where he was riddled with foxtails. We rushed him to our vet and then he recovered with one of our best foster homes. Now that he’s all healed up, he’s ready for a forever home of his own! Echo weighs 11 pounds and is just as adorable as can be. He’s charmed everyone he’s met and we can’t wait to help him find his lucky forever people. Ready to find the song in your heart? Come and meet Echo today!      Echo, despite his rough start, arrived at our rescue as a sweet, snuggly, and happy dog. Once he started healing, he showed off his carefree and playful side. He loves to run around, chase a ball, and play games with the resident kids. He’s very smart and attentive and has picked up on tricks with ease. As he’s grown more confident, he’s become more curious and he loves checking out the smells and sights of the yard. When Echo is ready for cuddles, he is all up in your space as he sprawls across your lap and gives you tons of kisses. Echo is a medium energy level dog. He would love to go for a few short walks but is just as happy to lounge around the house and catch up on his sleep. Echo would flourish in a house ready to shower him in love and playtime. You’ll have the most loyal, amazing companion if you’re lucky enough to bring Mr. Echo home. Echo also loves playing hide and go seek under blankets. He will keep you laughing forever!   Echo wakes up at 7 AM after snoozing in the bed of his foster brother. Once he wakes up, he goes straight outside to potty and then comes inside for breakfast. He soaks up all the cuddles until the kids head off to school. During the day, he lounges around the house napping and playing with his toys. He loves car rides and often joins the school pickup. He loves his walks and his playdates with the huge neighbor dog. When the kids get home from school, he runs around in the yard until homework time. He loves to sit and watch his humans prepare dinner before he gets his own meal. He eats dinner and then hangs out in the living room. He goes out for one last potty and then heads to bed.  Echo is best friends with the neighbor’s dog who is a 79 pound pit mix. They play together all the time and have a ton of fun romping around. He lives with several kids and adores them. Echo walks very well on a leash and loves his daily romps. He’s doing well and progressing in his training. What a treat this handsome boy is. If you’re ready for a happy and playful new friend, meet and bring home amazing Echo!      Echo is an option for homes with previous dog owning experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 6.
