Meet Winnie

**Despite her breed mix Winnie is NOT hypoallergenic and does shed. If you or a member of your family have allergies to dogs Winnie may not be a good match for your family.** Are you in search of a living teddy bear, but just can't find one? Well, we have the next best thing, meet Winnie, a floppy moppy cutie pie of a pup! Winnie is a 4-month-old goldendoodle who came to us because a member of her original family ended up being allergic to her. She weighs 25lb and stands about 27" high from her toes to the top of her cute little furry head. She has the potential to grow into a full-size muppet.  Winnie loves everyone she meets and isn't afraid to show it. She's a rambunctious playmate, so would probably do best with another medium to large-size playful dog friend.  Winnie is going to grow up to be a big girl (at least 70lbs) so her fur-ever family should be prepared to care for a large, active dog. She also is still learning her basic manners, so she needs a family ready to dedicate lots of time to continue her training and socialization. Winnie loves adults and kids but would do best with kids over 10 years old as they could better keep up with her and help her hone her fetch-playing skills. Winnie also loves to spend time curled up next to your feet, under your chair, or in your lap, with a chin on your knee. She has also been known to get full-blown zoomies when she goes outside, so a yard would be ideal for this fun-loving girl. She also needs a family that will ensure she gets plenty of daily exercise and make sure her days are full of enrichment. We haven't seen Winnie around cats, but she could do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Winnie is well on her way to being house-trained and is just starting to give subtle signs of when it's time to go outside. Her new family should be prepared to be patient with her as she learns and expect accidents until she settles in. Winnie has done well with being crated when her humans are away from home and especially loves a treat-filled Kong to help her pass the time. Winnie also can be crated at night and sleeps a solid 8 hours, but would really love to have someone, with a big bed, and a big heart they are willing to share with her. Winnie would be happy to be the love of your life. If you think you might be her perfect match apply to adopt her today!     Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email [email protected]. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.

Adoption Process
We have an application that needs to be completed. We need to interview all members of the household that are considering adopting the pet. We also need to verify if renting that any rental deposits have been satisfied.
