Meet Diego

Go, Diego, Go! Diego is a 3-month-old wrinkly baby with so much love to give. He is the cutest little boy who loves nothing more than playing with his siblings and getting lots of kisses. He is the most mellow out of his siblings, but don't worry, he still has lots of puppy energy to keep you on your toes. Diego is going to be a big boy when he grows up and will likely be at least 60lbs when fully grown. Diego, formally known as Skipper, came to us after he was found in a box with his siblings outside Black Bear Diner during a storm. He was in rough shape and needed a blood transfusion at UC Davis. He is now thriving in his foster home and is a happy healthy boy. We can only guess what the puppies' breed mix is, but we do know they are 100% adorable! Diego takes a little bit longer than his siblings to pick up new things and needs a family that will be patient with him during training. Being a puppy, he still has lots of things to learn, so he needs a family ready to dedicate lots of time to training and socializing him so he can grow up to be a confident, well-rounded dog. What he lacks in smarts, he makes up with sweetness and he is a social boy who loves everyone he meets. He is quick to cover your face in kisses and crawl right into your lap for cuddles. Diego loves other dogs and would make a great little brother for a playful dog of similar size. He also could do well as your spoiled-only fur kid. Diego has lived with cats before and could do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction with proper supervision. Due to his puppy antics, Diego would do best with kids 10 years and older. Diego is still working on his housetraining, so his new family will need to be patient while he is learning and expect accidents. Diego is used to sleeping in a crate at night and spending the day in a pen with his siblings. He will need some time to adjust to being without his siblings and needs a family that can slowly transition him to being alone. Diego is a sweet boy who had a rough start and is ready for his happy-ever-after. If you think you're the family to make his dreams come true, apply to adopt him today!   Diego's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals.  Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email [email protected]. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.

Adoption Process
We have an application that needs to be completed. We need to interview all members of the household that are considering adopting the pet. We also need to verify if renting that any rental deposits have been satisfied.
