Meet Spike

Savoring his second chance at life, sweet 5-year-old Spike has swiftly settled into his foster home. The tiny 9-pound former stray, so easygoing and so calm, loves snuggling and cuddling with his foster mom, resting his head on her, following her through the house, and then dancing and prancing about. He gets along well with his doggy foster friends of assorted ages and sizes while ignoring the resident cats, and being moderately energetic, enjoys chewing on bones and going for walks, honing his leash skills along the way. While Spike seems to know no commands, he’s highly motivated by love, should prove easy to teach, and is diligently at work on his crate and house-training. Now all Spike needs to truly shine is a loving home in search of a lap dog, perhaps with another small, moderately energetic dog, that will complete his training, including his commands, and keep him in snuggles fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here .
