Meet Tuffy

Initially shy in new surroundings, once 9-year-old Tuffy trusted his fosters, he showed them how sweet and sociable he really is. At 28 pounds, this cream and caramel cutie is a passionate people pup, who loves lying leisurely on the couch, cuddling and snuggling with his fosters, resting his head on them, showing his paw for even more pets, and turning over for tummy rubs. While he’s happiest in their company, he gets along very well with his doggy foster friends, loves dog treats, accepting them gently. Tuffy has recently discovered how much he enjoys playing with toys, especially fetch. His foster mom caught him tossing a toy up in the air and then catching it! Tuffy is very well-behaved on leashed walks but currently does better when accompanied by other dogs. He sleeps soundly inside his crate at night and is almost fully house-trained. Now all Tuffy needs to truly bloom is a tranquil home with loving adopters who will patiently bolster his confidence, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him in cuddles fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $80. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.
