Animal Rescue of the Rockies

ARR was formed in 2003 to provide an alternative to shelter environments for homeless dogs and cats. By providing foster homes as a temporary measure until forever homes can be found, our pets are socialized and cared for individually.

Meet Sonas

Hi, I'm Sonas. I was born on March 21 with my 8 siblings! My mom is around 43 lbs.  Sweet and sociable 3.5-month-old Sonas percolates with typical puppy spirit and spunk. At 20 pounds, with one blue eye and one brown eye, this caramel cutie is admirably outgoing for one so young and adores the attention he receives in his foster home. Not only does he love snuggling and cuddling with his foster mom, he loves resting his head on her, showing his paw for more love, turning over for tummy rubs, and then dancing about in delight. Famously friendly, Sonas also loves chasing his brother around in between naps and playing with the resident dogs of assorted sizes, while respecting the boundaries of the resident cats. Fond of chewing bones, playing with crinkle toys and stuffed animals (he loves ripping them apart and chewing on the squeakers), he’s especially fond of going for walks, improving his leash skills along the way. Motivated by food, toys and love, eager to learn and easy to teach, Sonas currently knows “come” and “sit,” likes and accepts all treats gently, sleeps in his crate at night, and is diligently at work on his house-training. Only just starting life’s journey, sweet Sonas hopes to share it with loving adopters, preferably with an equally sociable dog or dog-savvy cat, as he completes his training, including his commands, and remains both adored and active fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls.
