Meet Cherish

Meet Cherish – a name that truly embodies her heart. If you know the song “Cherish,” you’ll understand why it was the first word that came to mind when I met her. Cherish is a 3-year-old Chihuahua weighing in at 10 pounds, and she is the definition of a cuddle bug. She loves being close to her people, and there’s nothing she enjoys more than curling up in your lap for some quality bonding time. While she’s a bit on the timid side, she’s incredibly sweet and loving once she feels safe. She does shed, but it’s a small price to pay for all the affection she’s ready to give. It’s truly hard to believe that this little gem ended up in a shelter. When she first arrived, she was a nervous wreck—wide-eyed, trembling, and unsure of everything around her. She even snapped a bit when scared and had accidents from stress. Her situation was dire, and she was facing euthanasia, but she’s come such a long way in her foster home. Though she’s made great progress, Cherish would do best in a calm, patient home, and we wouldn’t recommend her for a family with young children. One of her sweetest moments is when you talk to her in a high-pitched, baby voice and say, “Good girl!”—that’s when she’ll flash you her adorable little smile. Cherish is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300. If you’re ready to offer her a forever home where she can continue to blossom, visit www.misfitsdogrescue.org to submit an application.
