Meet Crook County / Toby
General Notes | Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Personality | Who's a GOOOOD boy?! Me!! I'm Toby! I was found as a stray in TX, no one claimed me, and I'm sooo happy to be rescued!! I just arrived to CO and am excited to be here! Toby is an amazing boy with the typical Lab personality we all know and love! He is absolutely stunning too. Toby enjoys all people and other dogs. He's a happy Labby and looking for someone to be his forever BFF!Story | Toby was found as a stray and no one came to claim him. He appears to have been someone's pet before.Other Dogs | Toby has met several other dogs at the shelter and recently he's met even more dogs with his CO foster Dad. Toby is social and he enjoys playing!Cats | Toby lived with a cat in his foster home in TX and they got alone fine!Children | He is a complete lover. We imagine he will do great as a family dog with children. Training | Smart! Toby is a fast learner and good listener. He is eager to please and loves treats. Training will be a breeze with this guy! He already knows basic commands like sit, stay and come. He does not mind the crate and sleeps thru the night. Toby has already learned to use the doggie door in his foster home.Leash | He walks okay on leash but will pull when excited. To be the best walking buddy, Toby would appreicate someone who will continue training him walking using a harness and with yummy treats and praise. In no time, with more practice, Toby will be great on leash.Activity Level | Medium. Toby is still a young Lab that needs regular exercise and socialization. He will do best in a home that provides regular walks or hikes and continues his training. Health Notes | Healthy! Toby is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm NEGATIVE!Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
