Moms and Mutts Colorado Rescue for Pregnant & Nursing Dogs

We are a foster based, 501c3 non-profit rescue, dedicated to the health and wellbeing of dams and their litters. We see our rescue dogs through pregnancy, birth (whelping), nursing, weaning, and adoption. In addition to providing necessary care, we also work to socialize, train, and evaluate each dog to ensure that they find permanent forever homes. This involves establishing close and trusting relationships with our volunteers, adopters, and the community.

Meet Katies Puppy - Maya (SPAYED)

Maya is a 6 year old mutt (blue heeler, lab, and staffordshire terrier mix) who is very eager to please. She loves learning new commands and can demonstrate sit, stay, down, spot (goes to her "spot"), and has a decent recall. She likes to have a job to do (she will play fetch until your arm can throw no more). Maya gets along well with other dogs and is also friendly with cats. Maya is loyal and attuned to her humans, and she can sometimes be protective. Maya is vocal when new people come over to the house and may take a couple visits to warm up to someone. She can also be skittish/anxious with delivery drivers and unfortunately, she's also skittish around small humans. She will thrive in a house with an experienced dog owner without young kids.

Adoption Process
Adopters fill out an application that is thoroughly evaluated. Approved applications are forwarded to fosters for second evaluations and the foster then interview the applicants and set up meet and greets. Adoptions are accompanied by an adoption contract. Fees vary. Home checks required.
