Animal Rescue of the Rockies

ARR was formed in 2003 to provide an alternative to shelter environments for homeless dogs and cats. By providing foster homes as a temporary measure until forever homes can be found, our pets are socialized and cared for individually.

Meet Winter

With her wide, warm and welcoming smile, 6-month-old Winter has won the hearts of her foster home! At 40 pounds and still growing, she’s sweet and sociable, loves cuddling and snuggling with her foster mom and rolling over for belly rubs before her enviable curiosity and confidence have her eagerly exploring her environment. Not only does playful Winter enjoy engaging with her doggy foster friends of assorted sizes, she likes chewing on puppy bones and rubber Kongs, sprawling out in the sun and soaking up the sun, and going for walks, walking quite comfortably on leash. Motivated by food and toys, highly intelligent and easy to teach, she currently knows “sit,” “down,” “off” and “go potty,” is crate trained, almost fully house-trained and at work on her puppy manners. Only just starting her life’s loving journey, Winter will thrive in a loving home, preferably with another dog as both mentor and playmate, older children, and patient adopters who will perfect her manners, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls.
