Frosty, my newest foster, arrived from GA at dawn this morning, bringing with him a heartwarming tale of resilience. Listed as a lab mix, Frosty weighs about 40 pounds and has a heartbreaking story: he was crated for extremely long hours daily, leading to urination on himself in a crate that was too small. This resulted in yellowish stains on his tail and rear, but thankfully, these stains have been fading away since his rescue and cleaning. What's truly inspiring is that despite this traumatic experience, Frosty remains calm in his crate and settles down after just a few minutes. Frosty was also starved, with food provided only occasionally, which is evident in his underweight body - at just 1 year old, he should weigh more than 40 pounds. To help him thrive, I'll be feeding him small meals several times a day for the next week to acclimate his stomach to regular nourishment. On a brighter note, Frosty gets along wonderfully with my dogs and children, and he's even friendly with cats. If you're interested in giving Frosty or other amazing dogs a loving home, please fill out an application at East Coast Canine Rescue, eastcoastcaninerescue.org.
