Meet Frita, a young, sweet and friendly canine companion. She's the embodiment of gentleness, always ready to share a cuddle or two. Frita is not just about cuddles, she's also playful and smart. Her intelligence shines through in her quick learning abilities. She loves spending time with her people, showing her loyalty and affection in countless ways. Frita is a bundle of joy, her playful antics will surely brighten up your day. Her gentle demeanor and smartness make her an ideal pet for any family. Frita is working on house training and is doing great when put out regularly and will use pads if there is inclement weather. She is crate trained but needs some work on her leash skills. She is a smart girl and basic group training classes is recommended to help her learn commands, socialize with other humans and dogs, as well as build that fur-ever bond with you! Adopting Frita means bringing home a friend who's loyal, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. She is waiting to fill your home with love and happiness. Medical Note: Frita came into an Arkansas shelter with a history of a trauma to her back right leg. The shelter coordinated a surgery for her in January 2025 with a local veterinarian. As of her transport date to Rhode Island in March 2025, Frita's recovery has been uneventful and she is observed to be fully weight bearing most of the time. Healing may continue for 12-18 months post-surgery. Continued appropriate exercise, joint supplements, and keeping the dog lean are recommended indefinitely, and, as with any traumatic injury and/or history of orthopedic injury to maximize the dog's recovery and ongoing quality of life, additional treatment may be recommended in the future. Prescreened adopters will have the opportunity to speak with the SOS Medical Director should they have any questions or concerns.
