Meet Twiggy

Location: PA   Meet Twiggy the sweetest soul on the planet. She loves everyone she meets.  Twiggy is happy her baby days are over. She’s looking forward to getting all the love and attention instead of giving it to her 9 kids. And she’s also looking forward to putting on some weight.  Twiggy is guessed to be under 2 years old. Our best breed guess is Australian Cattle Dog, Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees (she has double hind dew claws). What she really is is spectacular! She is sweet and very smart. Twiggy knows basic commands and is housebroken. She wants her own family…and deserves one.  The only potential problem is that she is a climber. It didn’t take long for her to figure out how to climb out of her pen to get away from her babies. She also was able to climb 4’ garden fencing surrounding the puppy yard. She wasn’t looking to run away… a little wandering jaunt may have been fun. So a 6’ wood fence or a long lunge line would be best until she can be trusted. Initially we thought Twiggy is dog friendly now we are not sure. She had a meet and greet and she grumbled a little too much for comfort. We walked them together and she still grumbled with a little lip lifting. Is it hormones? It it because her babies are in the house?Possibly. Will she eventually be accepting of a dog? We honestly can’t say for sure. Twiggy has been spayed, is Heartworm/Lyme negative and is up to date on core vaccines.  She is being fostered in Virginville PA To be preapproved for Twiggy please fill out an adoption application at ACDRA.org. Adoption Process
ADOPTION FEES All puppies and adult dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives. All adult dogs are spayed / neutered. Puppies under 1 year: $350 Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are adopted with a Spay/Neuter Contract which includes a $50 deposit which is refunded when you submit proof of spay/neuter. Age 1 - 6: $300 Age 7 - 9: $250 Age 10+: $100 Age 7+ adopted by a person 60+: FREE (Any donation is appreciated) Need our help transporting over 3 hours from foster home to adopter: $50 - $150 depending on distance (in addition to adoption fee). NOTE! All dogs are adopted with a 2-week trial period. If you decide the dog is not a fit for your household and the dog is returned to the rescue within 2 weeks of adoption, the adoption fee will be refunded.
