Meet Spunky
When the staff at the shelter tells you that this dog is their favorite, you know he is a special guy. He wowed all the employees in his southern placement and now he is looking to do the same with his forever family. Spunky has the silliest, goofiest personality making everyone want to spend time with him and a change in his location has not changed his personality one bit. Just look at his pic and you can see that he is a happy go lucky pup. He is three years old weighing about 56 pounds. Little is known about Spunky (such a great name for him) as he came from a high kill shelter prior to coming into rescue. What is known is that someone recognized his potential and saved him so he could have a second chance. He loves his canine friends, as well as the adults and children who spend time with him. It is unknown if he has lived with a cat. Labs are known for their friendliness towards people. They have more than enough affection to go around for the whole family, too. Labs are intelligent and good-natured. They have plenty of energy as pups and usually like to stay active through-out their lives. They make great family companions. As a mix he will probably have a lot of lab qualities.Spunky is learning the ropes in learning his house, crate and leash training. Please also remember that even trained dogs may have occasional accidents as they adjust to their new home and new routines.Daily exercise will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. He may also enjoy going for hikes or runs. He will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will prevent boredom. A secure back yard would be a plus because it would give him free time to play and burn off energy. He might enjoy visits to a local dog park.
