Meet Serenity
Serenity Kingston, MA Meet Serenity! This male mixed breed was born near the end of March 2024 and loves spending time with his people. He prefers training and playing to cuddling, but has been known to solicit attention once he knows and trusts you. He can be a little shy upon meeting strangers, but warms up with some time and loves to learn! Once settled, Serenity will surprise you with his energy and eagerness. He has a tendency to learn quickly when channeled constructively, and absolutely loves to train. He still has a lot to learn, but would be a good partner for someone interested in continuing his training. He would likely enjoy dog sports and has already been dabbling in some drive sports: he's a tug fiend and loves the spring pole. And Serenity LOVES the water! He hasn’t been to a dock yet, but he will sit in the empty kiddie pool and request water be added. Serenity would likely do well with other dogs in the house, so long as they are tolerant of puppy antics. He enjoys group play with the many adult dogs he has made friends with, but his puppy energy may be a bit much for some dogs. He can also coexist with dogs who are not interested in playing. He just needs some guidance from his people to best set everyone up for success. Serenity is crate trained, including for car rides. And he has been attending pack hikes with groups of adult dogs to have fun and learn. Older children would be best for Serenity due to his sensitive nature. While he has not met cats, Serenity may be able to live around them if given time and training. Serenity’s mother was an Australian cattle dog, so you can expect a lot of herding breed tenacity. A DNA test submitted on several of his littermates revealed Siberian husky, American pit bull terrier, and boxer as the next three breeds in their genetic makeup. He currently weighs 30lbs at 8 months old, and likely will not grow too much larger. He is microchipped, up to date on monthly preventatives and vaccinations, and will be neutered shortly after Thanksgiving. Serenity must meet his potential family prior to adoption to ensure a great match!
