This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Say hello to Senji! She looks like a Basenji/Rat Terrier mix to us, probably about 1-2 years old. Senji is a fun-loving character who is really drawn to kids! She was first found wandering in a rural area, several cars tried to pick her up but she was scared and ran away. When one car stopped with an 8-year-old boy, she immediately ran right toward him and all was better! We think she'd make a great family dog. She's also had a blast playing with the other dogs, big and small, at her foster home, so she would do well in a home with another furry friend too. She is mellow in her crate or hanging with her people, but as soon as she gets outside with other dogs, she can't wait to run around! She loves all dogs and isn't usually too vocal, but if she sees a dog on the other side of the fence, she'll start barking. Maybe she's a good watch dog or maybe she just wants them to come over and play too? She's got some energy and she'll want her new family to help tire her out and have some fun. She's great on a leash, loves her crate, and she's working on her housetraining. Senji is a silly, affectionate girl and can't wait to join her forever family! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ * *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
