To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: 6 Years, 9 Months (as of 3/12/2025) Weight: 12 lbs (as of 2/28/2025) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Introducing Elmer! Elmer lived with an older woman who unfortunately passed away leaving him homeless. Since then, he has been staying in a shelter awaiting his new forever home. This 12-pound affectionate bug is gentle, intelligent, and eager to please. He likes squeaky and chew toys, laptime, and meeting new people. This charming little gentleman is ready for some cuddling with his people on the couch while they watch a movie or just stare into your eyes lovingly… We strongly recommend that all our dogs - and especially puppies - attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his human family. It’s lots of fun, too! If you're ready to make that awesome commitment to bring up Elmer, fill out an application today! Will you be the one to give him the stability he sadly lost? Unconditional love and snuggles await! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not by breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
